Your data
Delete your data
You can delete your Zipper account and your business's data in the app or by email. Here's what's deleted and the little we keep.
Your request
Delete it in the app
In Zipper, open Settings → Delete account and confirm.
- If you're the only person on the business, your account and all of the business's data are deleted right away: the Instagram connection and its access token, customers, chats, orders and payments.
- If teammates remain, only your login is deleted. The business and its data stay with them, and if you were the owner, the longest-standing teammate becomes the owner.
If you bought Pro through the App Store, cancel it in your Apple Account settings too. A subscription keeps billing your Apple Account until it's cancelled, even after you delete your Zipper account or leave the business.
Or ask us by email
- Email usezipperai@gmail.com from the email address you use to sign in to Zipper, with the subject “Delete my Zipper data”.
- Optionally, remove Zipper's access in Instagram: Settings and activity → Website permissions → Apps and websites, then remove Zipper.
What happens after an email request
- We confirm your request by email within 7 days.
- Within 30 days we delete your account, business details, connected Instagram account and its access token, imported messages, customer records, orders and payment requests. If teammates remain, we delete only your login and the business stays with them, just as in the app.
What we keep
- Records of App Store subscription events (product, dates and transaction IDs; no card details), for up to 6 years for tax and accounting.
- A one-way code made from your Instagram account ID, so the free 30 days of Pro can't be claimed again. We keep it only as long as needed for that and use it for nothing else. It can't be turned back into your ID.
- Copies in our providers' backups and service logs (including sign-in records with your email and IP address), which expire within 30 days.
Deleting your Zipper account doesn't delete messages on Instagram, or your own Stripe account if you connected one; manage those with Instagram and Stripe.
If you remove Zipper in Instagram
If you remove Zipper in Instagram's settings, Zipper stops receiving messages and deletes its access token. Chats already in Zipper stay. If you also ask Meta to delete your data, we delete the Instagram connection and the chats, messages and customer details that came from it, plus the orders and payment requests made from those chats, and Meta gives you a confirmation code. Your Zipper account and business details stay until you delete your account.
Customers of a Zipper business
If you messaged a business that uses Zipper and want your messages removed, you can ask the business, or email us with your Instagram username and the business's name, and we will delete them from Zipper. Deleting them from Zipper doesn't delete them from Instagram.
